Are You Obsessed With Florals For Your Big Day? Here are 10 Ways To Incorporate Floral Décor Into Your Wedding

Is your Pinterest board full of wedding floral inspiration pictures? Do you believe that the more flowers the better? Us too!

Using floral arrangements and installations to incorporate your colour scheme and wedding style is always a great idea. Whether you decide to go for real flowers or silk florals, there is so much choice out there. The most common use of floral décor is by way of the floral arrangements on the centrepieces. However there are countless other ways you can use floral décor, and as event designers here at O.R. Butterfly Events – we love to get creative, here are some of our ideas….

Bridal Room

Starting your big day with floral décor is a fun way to get you and your bridesmaids in the mood for the big day ahead. It also acts as a glam backdrop for your “getting ready” shots which your photographer will love.

Bridal room décor can be as simple as a few florals strategically placed around your bridal suite, or can be elaborate with a bridal sofa, vases and candles. Contact us or send an email to info@orbutterflyevents.co.uk for quotes on the different packages we do for bridal room styling.

You have paid for your suite – make the most of it. And whats more – it will be there when you get back to the room with your husband – so is a romantic atmosphere for your first night together as Mr & Mrs…need I say more?

Floral Entrances

Styling your venue doesn’t have to just be the inside. Set the tone for the day and create a jaw dropping entrance for your guests by adding floral installations.

If there are any focal points of your venue such as staircases or pergodas – styling these with floral designs would be amazing. Your guests will certainly be ensuring they get their selfie on arrival!

Ceremony Décor

Floral arches are becoming increasing popular for ceremony focal points. They are dreamy and can be adapted to match your theme and colours.

Want something a bit different? Why not look at square floral focal points, hanging floral baskets in the church, floral arrangements down the aisle or hedges / flower walls personalised with your name?

Table Plan

We created a table plan design recently for our bride and groom who got married at the newly refurbished Hatfield Place. They wanted a floral touch to our mesh backdrop which they pegged their table names to. It was a great way to welcome guests and keep the floral theme of the wedding going.

As part of our consultation process, we like to work with our couples to find out what they love and suggest ways to ensure their big day is everything they want and more!

Wedding Cake

Whether your wedding cake is small, simple and cute or tall, elaborate and show stoppingly stunning, using floral elements is ideal. Many cake designers are happy to use silk florals or create their own roses to match your design.

We loved this cake which was part of one of our August 2016 weddings (on the left) designed by Designer Cakes of London. It matched the wedding décor perfectly!

Alternatively, you could use floral rings or floral décor around the cake table to showcase your wedding cake. Choosing the right floral design to enhance your wedding cake!

Stage Design

Incorporating florals in the stage design of your top table is another way to ensure you stand out on your day. The use of flower walls and lighting can create a romantic atmosphere. Particularly if you pair it with candles and draping.

Cocktail Hour

Having a cocktail hour or drinks reception? Why not personalise your own menu with a bespoke cocktail with floral garnishes?

We just love attention to detail and can pretty much make any cocktail of your choice – be it passion fruit or espresso martinis or rum punches and gin fizzes – your guests will appreciate the special touch.

Thank You Gifts

Why not use floral arrangements as wedding gifts to parents and parents-in-law as well as your bridal party?

A great way to say thank you, particularly if you are going to thank them during speeches or as part of your wedding reception.

Entertainment

In addition to photobooths and chocolate fountains, another way to entertain guests is to provide them with photo opportunities to capture memories and provide some fun on the evening.

Flower walls can be customised to any colour and style and additional signage can be added for an added touch of flair!

Personal Touches

Why not incorporate your favourite floral design into your invite, wedding stationary, monogram or even on your dancefloor.

Customised seamless dancefloors are a great way to wow your guests, look great for your evening photos and add your personal touch. At O.R. Butterfly Events, we design the monograms and provide truly seamless dancefloors for your wedding party.
